2013 is ending in 1 day and it got me thinking of how quickly this year went by and how so many things happened throughout this year. There were lots of memories shared with special people in my life, both good and bad, lots of smiles as well as tears shed, there are those wondrous days that just couldn't get any better and there are sure days when I just feel like everything's going wrong and it couldn't get any worse. We all have to admit that life will never always be smooth sailing and it's really up to us to choose how we want to face the obstacles in our lives. It's either we rise or we fall, and I'm glad that I have people around me that prevented me from falling.
//
I've met a lot of people throughout these 4 years, some stayed while some left. It saddens me to say that I've had a couple of close friends whom I've drifted far away from but I'm glad to also say that I'm able to graduate with a special group of friends who will forever be close to my heart.
They are the ones that has brought so much fun and happiness to my upper sec life and school would be so weird without having all of 'em around next year :-( we actually got close to one another by playing murderer at the back of the class in sec 3 & they are the closest group of friends I've had till this day.
Here are the girls (Cheryl, Chia Te, Zhi Yu, Li Ann, Rui Xin) whom I know I'll keep in touch with till the day we get married and have our own families. I can't imagine what my secondary school life would have been like without them. They've seen me at my happiest as well as my saddest and we've shared so many wonderful memories together throughout the years. We've stuck by one another since sec 1/2 and they are the sisters I've never had :')
and the boys (Dino, Tjinyang, Ding Xuan, Chee Ann, Xin Ran, Jia Jun, Xie Chao) who are a super fun bunch to be with!!! I'll have to admit that I'm not extremely close to all the guys in my clique, just some but I'm still thankful for all of 'em :) Hung out with Dino, Tjinyang, Ding Xuan and Xin Ran a lot during this holiday and we definitely got a lot closer :)
Besides this group, I also have some more people who've played a part in my life for the past year or so, some way or another that I'm really grateful for, even if it's just for a short period of time :)
Guitar ensemble
Undoubtedly played a huge part in my secondary school life. I had zero experience in guitar when I first chose the CCA and being able to step down as their president is an honor :)
As much as I love being part of the ensemble, stepping down also meant a weight off my shoulders. There was a lot of pressure thrown on me and it was indubitably stressful, especially with mr yeo's high expectations, I had to bear all of his harsh words during the syf period and a whole lot of responsibilities and make several decisions which got me so frazzled but thank god I managed to pull everything together alongside with my sec 4 guitar mates :) I also have the loveliest juniors which can make us very angry at times (hehe) but without them, CCA won't be the same :)
Definitely miss being part of the ensemble, but I'm glad I've stepped down hahaha
No doubt, thank you for all the great memories together as an ensemble :)
Next up, the sec 1 orientation camp 2013 main comm aka kadir's kids!!!!! They're the craziest bunch of people I know and the camp definitely holds a lot of great memories :D a super fun and friendly group of people to be around with :-)
Not forgetting our JFAs :)
And next up are just some individual people :)
Liwen and Eloysius- two of my loveliest friends whom I've met through guitar :D they're the funniest duo I know and also the best listeners :) super proud of 'em for achieving such good results for N's!!!!! So glad I got to know them and they're the ones I know I can always count on no matter what happens :)
Akif- the one who will always make sure that I'm alright in the middle of the night, friends since sec 1 through guitar // he quitted guitar and we kinda drifted apart, not as close as before but we still have our occasional conversations :) we were supposed to go out together during the holidays but school's starting for him so I guess next time hehe
Junwan (and I'm sure some of you are curious about)- I must admit that he's someone who has played a huge part in my upper sec sch life :) I first got to know him at the beginning of sec 3 through twitter and we started talking from then onwards. Yes we did like each other before, but things didn't turn out that well :) We didn't get into a relationship, just a complicated friendship that we are unsure of as well. He's the kind of friend that I can "joke around with and then have a deep conversation without feeling awkward and it's not weird at all"- as quoted from a tweet. I definitely had a lot of great/happy memories with him, and ofc some bad ones, overall I'm still grateful for him for the past 2 years :) So to make it clear, we're just friends now & there's nothing going on between us :) Hopefully we'll still keep in contact in the future!
Jiajun- a very funny guy and entertaining person to talk to! kinda awkward how I first got to know of him actually haha but he's a great friend to have! been a long time since we last talked tho :)
Jazz- hahaha we were pretty close at the beginning of the year due to camp!!! i still remember us staying back together after school to study then walking to esso together :)
Eeming- not much memories in school together in our upper secondary school days but still a great friend of mine :) I've already done a short description in a few posts back!
I'm sorry if I've missed out on anyone here! I can't seem to think of anyone else hahaha. Overall, I'm extremely thankful for everyone who has played a significant role in my life the past year.
I took my O's this year, and due to O's, there was a period of time whereby I cut off all connections and shut myself away from others by deactivating my twitter account, not going on instagram and hardly talking to anyone on whatsapp. And it made me drift away from a handful of people.
Even though Dunman wasn't my dream school, I've never regretted coming here.
I remember how people will always say that your secondary school days will be the most memorable days of your life, and it's indeed true. Before ending this post, I'll like to say a big thank you to whoever that has been part of my secondary school life and making it such a memorable one for me, be it being there for me once, twice or all the time, who have made me smile/laugh, and also to those who've hurt me but made me a stronger person. Looking back, I've definitely grown so much as a person and changed quite a bit, ok quite a lot, throughout the years but I believe that it's for the better hehe :) and I'm sorry if I've hurt anyone of you and made anyone of you upset that I'm unaware of.
With that being said, I guess it has been a relatively good year. At the same time, I can't wait for the new year to start :-) It's New Year's Eve tomorrow and I'll be counting down with my friends which I'm looking forward to!!!!! Decided to put up this post instead of tomorrow bc I doubt I'll have the time to do so tomorrow!
I guess this is a proper farewell to my secondary school life! Even tho it's not exactly over since we haven't gotten back our results which I'm so anxious about!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! omg don't even start lynn T_T
Oh and thanks to whoever's that is reading this :) I get really happy when I see the number of views on my blog knowing that people actually do read my blog even tho it's not very interesting hahaha hope you had a great year, and here's to a better year next year! :D
Goodbye 2013. I'm ready for 2014.
